Recreation Membership Options

General Info

Recreation membership provides access to Campus Recreation facilities and programs and the ability to purchase guest passes. Payment for currently enrolled, full-time students is handled through mandatory student fees. Payment for part-time or unenrolled student, employee and family memberships is accepted at the UNC One Card Office. All One Card’s need to be acquired through the One Card Office.

Student Membership

Full-Time Students

Full-time undergraduate and graduate students receive an automatic membership through payment of mandatory student fees. The membership is only effective during semesters when the student is enrolled in classes.

Part-Time Students

Undergraduate and graduate students who are not enrolled in classes full-time can purchase a membership. Membership can be set up through the One Card Office.

$75.00 For the Entire Summer

Unenrolled Students

During the summer only, undergraduate and graduate students who are not enrolled in classes may purchase a membership. Unenrolled students must have been enrolled during the previous Spring semester to purchase the summer membership. Membership can be set up through the One Card Office.

UNC Interns & Sponsored Programs

Must be at least 18 years old and obtain a One Card. Sponsored Programs include MED, MURAP, NEH, SUROC, SURE, SPIRE, etc. Membership can be set up through the Campus Recreation Main Office (SRC 101).

Employee Membership

FACULTY (EHRA) OR STAFF (SHRA)	Must be a permanent employee. Must be enrolled in the state retirement system. Includes General Administration, UNC Press, and Faculty-Staff Recreation Association employees. Does not include temporary employees. Membership can be set up through the One Card Office. Post-Doctoral Fellows & Visiting Scholars	Must obtain post-doctoral fellow or visiting scholar status from sponsoring department. Annual membership can be set up through the One Card Office. Family Memberships

Spouse or Domestic Partner	Must be at least 18 years old. The student, faculty, staff member, post-doctoral student, or visiting scholar is not required to purchase a membership to sponsor his/her spouse or domestic partner. Campus Recreation reserves the right to request supporting evidence for these memberships. Spouses/partners of part-time and unenrolled students, Carolina Dining employees, and UNC Hospital employees are NOT eligible to purchase membership. Membership can be set up through the One Card Office. Dependents	Must be 17 years old or younger. Only eligible to purchase a pool membership.
