Sports Medicine

Sports medicine is an integral part of the health care team at Carolina, whose staff provides a unique service for athletes participating in Sport Clubs. The Sport Clubs Sports Medicine staff consists of three certified Athletic Trainers providing Athletic Training services including event coverage, injury management, and rehabilitation services. A certified Athletic Trainer is present at most home events, and is responsible for the health and safety of all participants. Injury management is provided for athletes on UNC's Sport Clubs teams in the Stallings-Evans Sports Medicine Center and AT/PT Clinic at Campus Health Services and includes prevention, evaluation, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and referral.
