BODY BEAUTIFUL

Did you know 13% of women smoke to lose weight and 17% of men are on extreme diets? Join Campus Rec for Body Beautiful on February 22-28, during National Eating Disorders Awareness week, to bring awareness to and change the conversation around body image issues. The Body Beautiful Project is an annual campaign led by Campus Recreation, along with partners Embody Carolina, Carolina Dining Services, and the Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders. The project aims to challenge common associations between fitness and aesthetics and to encourage self-acceptance. Check out the events we will be hosting throughout the week:

  • Mirrorless Monday throughout the SRC
  • Body Kind Group Fitness Classes:
    -Power Yoga: Tuesday 7-8 pm
    -3-2-1: Wednesday 5:15- 6 pm
    -Zumba: Wednesday 7-8 pm
    -Zumba: Thursday 5:45- 6:45 pm
    -Cycle
  • Monday table from 4-7 pm in the SRC with more information about Body Beautiful

TRX FUSION SPECIALTY SERIES

Love training with the TRX, but don't have the time to sign up for a specialty fitness class? We will be offering three TRX classes this semester outside of our specialty fitness class series. ALL of the proceeds go to student leaders in Campus Recreation. These leaders are a part of a student group called CIRSA, where they engage in professional development through leadersip opportunities and conference attendance! To sign up for these classes, please register in advance here (space is limited; UNC Campus Recreation members hip required; no refunds). 

Cost: $5 per class
Location: Rams Head Recreation Center Court 1
Registration opens: Monday, February 23
Registration closes: Wednesday, March 25
