Parent-Child Swim Lessons

Spring Semester Parent Child Swim Lessons

  • Toddlers: 10-36 months with an adult in the water
  • Classes run 30 minutes and have a 1:10 instructor to student ratio.

In this class, parents are introduced to developmentally appropriate tools for working with their 10 to 36-month-old child in the water, building a foundation for becoming a successful swimmer. Skills are introduced to the group by the instructor and a center-based approach is used to give participants the opportunity to focus on specific skills at their own pace. Topics that are covered include elements of water comfort, water safety, use of flotation, breath control, buoyancy, arm and leg movements as well as boating and sun safety. This peer-based group also offers the opportunity to make new friends.
