Caving

Register HERE.

Tawney’s cave is one of our newly christened “premium” trips. We’ll just do a few of these a year and if there’s interest may offer more in the future. This cave is just outside of Blacksburg, VA and we’ll make a long road trip there and back in a day. 6 am leave time and will likely return 6pm or later. This cave has a few optional squeezes and does not involve any technical climbing or gear, however, there is lots of scrambling and you should expect to get wet and dirty. This is a trip for people of all experience levels. Breakfast and lunch provided.

*For this trip you will be responsible for bringing the following items: synthetic tights and a longsleeve synthetic shirt, warm hat. Recommended to bring “throw-away” sweat pants and shirt that will go over those things as well. Caving is extremely muddy:)

A mandatory pre-trip meeting for multi-day and full day trips will take place at 7pm at the Carolina Outdoor Education Center on the Wednesday prior to the trip.
