Carolina Compass: Graduate and Transfer Student
Developing community at a new school can be tough, especially as a graduate or transfer student! Spend your Fall Break learning new skills and meeting new friends by joining Carolina Adventures on our 4.5 day orientation program! Known as Carolina Compass, this program gives graduate and transfer students the opportunity to challenge themselves and grow as individuals through the process of experiential education. Research has found outdoor orientation programs to be a crucial factor in developing support systems early on that lead to student success. You’ll make new friends, learn valuable, transferrable skills that will help you with your first year at UNC, and get to experience several outdoor activities in areas that make North Carolina so great! The activities included on this year’s trip include rock climbing and backpacking. This trip is a great introduction to North Carolina and what it means to be a student here at UNC! A scholarship that covers up to 50% of trip fees is available on a needs basis.
