Group Fitness

Join the fun with UNC Group Fitness! All levels and abilities are welcome in our classes. Each class is taught by a certified Group Fitness Instructor who has experience offering modifications to help you work at an intensity appropriate for your fitness abilities and goals. 


Miss our in-person group fitness classes with our awesome student instructors? Join us on Facebook for live, 30-45 min classes of all different formats. We’ve created a weekly schedule with at least one virtual class every day. If you can’t participate in the class live, it’ll be saved to our Facebook page for you to watch later! To make virtual fitness classes as freely accessible as possible to our members, and any other participants, we will be using this statement as a warning and assumption of risk. Participation in this class is voluntary. Physical activity programs may result in injury, and by participating, you assume the risk of injury. We strongly recommend that you participate from a space that is suitable for this activity. For example, make sure you move furniture and other potential hazards out of the way. We recommend creating an open space with enough space between you and any other object. We also recommend using a mat on the ground or a carpeted area. Moving on slick floors may result in injury. Participants are encouraged to stop if they experience pain or injury and should seek appropriate medical advice or care as needed. UNC-CH Campus Recreation strongly recommends that each participant have an annual physical examination and follow the advice of your health care provider before participating.

Not a current Campus Recreation Member, but interested in attending classes? No problem! We offer two options for UNC Employees to participate in our Fitness Classes without purchasing a membership. Visit our page (click on Group Fitness > Employee Class Pass) to learn more about both options.


  • Pricing = $40/hr (Student Groups), $50/hour (non-student groups)
  • Submit a request HERE. In the comments section, please include the following information:
    • Group Type: Student Organization, UNC Department, etc. 
    • Billing Name, Email, & Phone Number
    • Type of Class: i.e. Yoga, Zumba, etc.
    • Location: Do you have a space on campus reserved or are you requesting space in a Campus Recreation facility?)
    • Participants: Are all participants 18 years & older?
    • Equipment Needs: An extra charge will be applied for transportation of any equipment
