The Carolina Tar Heels men’s ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team at the Chapel Hill campus of the University of North Carolina. They are members of the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL) and compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II ice hockey.
This year marks the 43rd season of Carolina Hockey since its inception in 1974. Led by Head Coach/GM Jeff Volkman, the Tar Heels won the ACCHL’s Admiral’s Cup in the Spring of 2015, and most recently took home bronze in 2016.
