Spring Into Fitness

Why pick just one fitness opportunity on campus when you can try them all during Spring into Fitness?

During the first week of spring semester, Campus Rec’s Fitness program will host a myriad of opportunities letting you get a taste of everything the program has to offer. Highlighted by the launch of the new Tar Heel Training Center, this week is the perfect way to kickstart a fit and active semester!

Event Descriptions

Ask A Trainer: UNC Campus Recreation is proud to offer a convenient way for you to pose fitness questions to our nationally certified personal trainers. Whether you are needing advice to improve strength, lose weight, or learn new stretching techniques, our highly qualified team is eager to answer your questions. They will also gladly answer any questions regarding Personal Training Services offered by UNC Campus Recreation.  Event will take place on Wednesday, January 11th from 4-7 PM in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Lobby.

Chobani Tasting:  Join Carolina Dining Services with a Chobani Tasting! CDS provides and prepares the freshest and healthiest foods for meal plans, groceries, snacks, and catering so you can concentrate on being a Tar Heel.  Come with questions and leave with a great Chobani Yogurt snack. Event will take place on Wednesday, January 11th from 4-6 PM in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Lobby.

Group Fitness Sampler: Group Fitness classes are free at UNC, available on a first come, first serve basis! Not sure what group fitness format is for you? This is your chance to sample our different class formats and instructors! Event will take place on Wednesday, January 11th from 5-7:50 PM in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Studio A.

Fitness Assessments & Orientations Expo: Come explore the fitness assessment and orientation services offered by UNC Campus Recreation, including facility/equipment tours, functional movement screening, body composition, blood pressure, target heart rate zone, flexibility screening, muscle tension release and MORE!! Event will take place on Thursday, January 12th from 4-7 PM in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Lobby.

Mind Body Sampler: All mind body classes are free at UNC, available on a first come, first serve basis in our **NEW specialized mind body studio! Not sure what mind body format is for you? This is your chance to sample our different class formats and instructors. Event will take place on Thursday, January 12th from 5-6:20 PM in the Rams Head Recreation Center multi-purpose room.

Glowga: Glowsticks and yoga… need we say more? Join us for an energizing yoga class to kick off the spring semester! Moving with each breath, flowing from one pose to the next, this challenging class is appropriate for all levels, developing strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance with an emphasis on mindfulness of breath throughout. Event will take place on Thursday, January 12th from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Rams Head Recreation Center multi-purpose room.
