This program offers Carolina students, faculty and staff the chance to play and exercise with their children and uncover a variety of fun, healthy activities for Carolina kids to enjoy. Kids ROCK! is also a FREE program thanks to the generosity of our staff and sponsors, that aids in the fight against a national rise in juvenile obesity and diabetes. We do ask that you please RSVP at least two days before an event, so we can be sure to have enough treats!

Outdoor Expedition & Challenge Course Programs
Take advantage of the Outdoor Educations Center! The Carolina Outdoor Education Center (COEC) is a 20-acre wooded, green space 10 minutes on foot from the Student Union. COEC includes two main programs: a challenge course which features numerous low elements and two high ropes courses, and an expedition program. Both programs offer students, university groups, staff and other community members a variety of invigorating and empowering opportunities through the process of experiential education or "learning by doing."
Additional Recreation
There are additional recreational opportunities for faculty and staff Campus Recreation members:
Kerr Lake Recreation Association
Thinking about getting away? The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kerr Lake Recreation Association operates a recreational area on a 230 acre peninsula on Kerr Lake, one of North Carolina's most popular locations for water sports and outdoor relaxation. The shore and coves are well-suited for swimming and fishing, and the lake is ideal for water-skiing, canoeing, sailing, or simply a leisurely weekend outdoors. The Universtiy area is an easy 90 minute drive from Chapel Hill. Permits are available in 101 Student Recreation Center.
