Tae Kwon Do

Carolina Taekwondo practices WTF-style Taekwondo with a focus on practical self-defense, poomsae, and sparring. We compete year-round against other East Coast schools, and our demonstration team performs around campus throughout the year. Everyone from complete beginners to experienced black belts is encouraged to join! Beginners are especially encouraged to join at the beginning of the semester.

Fundraising/dues:

  • Dues are $40 per year, plus a one time $20 uniform fee.
  • Members are expected to volunteer for at least 1 fundraising event per semester.

How to join organization: Open Membership. Join at any time

Practice Days & Times:

  • Monday 8pm-10pm

  • Wednesday 8pm-10pm

  • Sunday 6pm-10pm

  • Mon/Wed: Woollen Combative Room (WG019)
  • Sunday: Fetzer Wrestling Room 

Competitive Season: Fall/Spring

Competition Level: Regional

National Governing Body: National Collegiate Taekwondo Association

Recent Accomplishments:

  • We held two belt tests over the spring semester and promoted several people to new belts!

  • We hosted our conference, ACAT’s largest competition to date. Schools from all along the East Coast attended including Duke, VT, UVA, and Clemson.

  • We attended our conference’s tournament at Liberty University. 8/9 of our competitors medaled.
