Specialty Fitness Programs
Carolina Fitness offers the university community several specialty fitness programs. Specialty fitness programs require participants to register in advance and pay the required fee (space is limited).
TO REGISTER FOR A FITNESS PROGRAM OR PERSONAL TRAINING
Please complete the appropriate registration form and turn in to the Campus Rec Main Office, located in the Student Recreation Center, Room 101. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Mangili.
Join us for CAMPUS RUN!
~Sponsored by Campus Recreation, Fleet Feet & NIKE~
Join us every Tuesday at 6:00pm at the Rams Head Rec Center for an evening of running! The run will be 3 and 5 miles in distance, at varying paces. Following the run, NIKE will be giving away t-shirts and other NIKE itmes. This is a free event! No pre-registration is necessary! For more information, visit Fleet Feet Carrborro's website.
TRX / BOOTCAMP FUSION
Summer Session I Information
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:00-4:00p
Where: Rams Head Rec Center
Cost: $30, but register with a friend and pay only $25!
Duration: Sessions run May 22nd-June 14th (8 sessions)

PERSONAL TRAINING START-UP SESSION
Have you reached a plateau or do you need help getting started? Sign up for a PT Start-up Session! The PT Start-up Session provides you with information on your current fitness status using the interactive fitness assessment product from MICROFIT Health & Fitness Systems. Fitness staff will then provide you with an exercise plan to help you reach your goals
Cost: $20 - Student $25 - Employee/Rec member
Assessments include:
- Resting Heart Rate
- Blood pressure
- Height and weight
- Body composition
- Flexibility
- Muscular strength and endurance
- Sub-maximal VO2 bike test
How to register:
- Complete a PT Start-up Session registration form.
- A medical clearance form must accompany any “Yes” response to the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) [student medical clearance] [employee medical clearance]
- Return it to the Campus Recreation main office located in SRC, Rm 101 with payment (One Card or Cash). At this time, you will also schedule your appointment.

PERSONAL TRAINING
If you need more encouragement or personalized instruction, then consider Personal Training. Our Personal Trainers will develop an individualized exercise regimen, based on your fitness assessment and goals, which will be not only challenging, but exciting. You will learn how to exercise effectively and safely during your sessions.
The cost of a Personal Training package is ($125 Student and $150 Employee/Rec Member). This includes five personalized training sessions and a fitness assessment. Additional packages (5 sessions) can be purchased per your request; however mandatory fitness assessments will NOT be required for these additional packages.

PARTNER TRAINING
Partner Training is designed for individuals that have similar goals. The cost of the Partner Training Package is ($100 Student/Person for 5 sessions and Employee/Rec Member $125/person for 5 sessions).
Complete a Partner Training registration form or renewal form and follow additional instructions above.
PERSONAL TRAINER TRAINING PROGRAM (PTTP)
Are you interested in becoming a personal trainer? This program prepares teaches you how to understand and apply the basic principles of exercise training to become a personal trainer. Trainees receive training on exercise instruction fundamentals including physiology, anatomy and program design.
